Combined with the Neos VSD inverter, this energy-efficient variable speed driven solution runs trouble-free in the harshest environments, delivering high process uptime at low lifecycle cost.

Internal Compression Process

The screw blower element lies at the heart of every ZS unit. Unlike lobe blowers that rely on external compression, the ZS screw blower uses an internal compression process that results in the lowest specific power consumption. Durably-coated rotors maintain optimal operational clearances over time, while perfectly sized and timed inlet and outlet ports with an optimized rotor profile minimize energy losses. This internal compression advantage translates to energy savings of up to 40% compared to lobe technology.

Liquid-Cooled Permanent Magnet Motor

The ZS 4 VSD+ features a liquid-cooled permanent magnet motor that achieves IE5 and NEMA ultra-premium efficiency classification. The permanent magnet design eliminates energy waste from creating a secondary magnetic field, while a constant power factor keeps motor efficiency stable throughout the entire speed range. This means energy efficiency gains extend across the full turndown range of the unit. The motor housing features a liquid-cooled jacket that maintains optimal operating temperature in any circumstance, and the motor runs on oil-lubricated bearings that allow operation at maximum speed. The induction motors in the ZS L and ZS models are classified up to IE4 and NEMA super premium efficiency, with a Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled (TEFC) design for operation in the harshest environmental conditions.

The fully integrated Neos VSD inverter allows the ZS 4 VSD+ to match motor speed and airflow delivery to the actual process demand. No energy is wasted compressing excess air. The Neos drive not only improves reliability but also operates at an optimal efficiency level. With multiple gear sets available for different pressure variants, the ZS series offers the widest range of integrated VSD blowers on the market and achieves the highest available turndown range.
