What the 1094815401 is

The 1094815401 is a genuine Atlas Copco fan motor for air-cooled screw compressors . It is a pole-changing asynchronous motor of the YDT100L1-4/6 type. The YDT family uses a tapped winding to deliver two fixed speeds from one frame. At the 4-pole setting it runs at 2.2 kW for main cooling duty. At the 6-pole setting it drops to 0.7 kW for reduced, quieter operation.

This dual-speed layout lets the compressor match fan output to load. On a hot, high-demand afternoon the motor runs at full speed. During light or night running it steps down and saves energy while still moving air. One motor therefore covers two duty points that a single-speed unit cannot.

Where it sits in the compressor

The motor bolts to the fan bracket at the rear of the compressor package. Its shaft carries the cooling fan that draws air across the aftercooler and the oil cooler. Stable fan speed keeps the discharge temperature and the oil temperature inside the design window. When the motor is correct and healthy, the cooler stack stays within range under load.
