Working Principle

Compressor Start-up Operation

When the compressor starts, internal system pressure or control air pressure overcomes the spring force inside the oil stop valve assembly. The piston then moves into the operating position and aligns the oil passage openings with the internal oil circuit. Consequently, lubricating oil flows continuously into the compressor airend and supports cooling and lubrication of the rotor and bearing system.

Compressor Shutdown Operation

When the compressor stops, the control pressure disappears and the internal spring immediately pushes the piston back to its original position. The piston then closes the oil passage and blocks residual pressure inside the oil separator tank from forcing lubricating oil back into the airend or intake system. Therefore, the system reduces oil spraying and protects internal compressor components during shutdown conditions.
