The semi-extendable soot blower is mainly used in areas of the boiler where the flue gas temperature is relatively low (usually ≤ 600℃), the accumulation of ash is severe, and the space is limited. Common application locations include:

• Economizer section: The economizer tubes in the boiler’s tail flue, prone to ash accumulation and with limited space, the semi-extendable design can effectively cover.
• Tube-type air preheater: The interior of the tube box or the tube bundle area, suitable for insertion for cleaning from one end.
• Convection tubes / evaporator: Medium-low temperature convection heating surfaces, where ash accumulation affects heat transfer efficiency.
• Middle-low temperature sections of the waste heat boiler: Such as the evaporation section and economizer section of the waste heat boiler.
• The low-temperature sections of some boilers’ reheaters / superheaters: When the flue gas temperature is not high and the long-extendable installation space is insufficient, it will also be selected.

The semi-extendable sootblower is a derivative product of the long-extendable type. Its core feature is that the sootblowing gun tube is lengthened, and a part of it is always placed inside the furnace. The tube body is equipped with a series of nozzles, and during the rotation and extension process, it can achieve a blow-off coverage that is twice or even greater than that of the long-extendable type. Because the gun tube remains in the area where the flue gas temperature is generally ≤ 600℃ (such as economizers, tube-type air preheaters, convection tubes, etc.) for a long time, it will not be burned out. It can achieve the same blow-off effect as the long-extendable type with a smaller installation space and lower investment cost.

。 The blowing medium is mostly steam or compressed air.

。 The travel distance is usually no more than 7.62 meters (with a maximum travel distance of about 13 meters).

。 The advancing and retreating speed is approximately 1.75 meters per minute, and the barrel rotation speed is about 17.5 revolutions per minute.

。 The blowing radius is approximately 1.5 to 2 meters, and the blowing angle is 360 degrees.

。 Motor power: 1.1 to 2 kW.

。 The structure mostly adopts the same transmission and control methods as the long telescopic type, which is stable and easy to maintain.
